The Quiet Miles of Mister Nimbus. Episode IV. The Lighthouse That Waited for Him.

The lighthouse stood on the edge of the world, shining calmly into the dusk. Nimbus didn’t know why he felt drawn to it — only that he did.

Lighthouses don’t speak, but they are excellent listeners.

Nimbus sat near it, watching the waves crash and dissolve. He wondered if this was what purpose looked like — a steady beam of light, even when the sky was dark and the wind was sharp.

He reached into his pocket and held the key he’d carried from the attic.

He still didn’t know what it opened.

But somehow, here, next to the lighthouse, the question felt less heavy.

Maybe some keys aren’t meant for doors.

Maybe they’re reminders:

that you’re still searching,

still moving,

still trying.

Nimbus sat until the light began to fade, until the sea grew quiet, until the sky softened.

And he realized something simple. 

The world didn’t need to be fully understood.

And neither did he.
