The Quiet Miles of Mister Nimbus. Episode II. The Harbor That Smelled Like Stories.

Nimbus’s first steps as a traveler led him downhill, following the scent of ropes, salt, and old wood.

The harbor was a world of its own — fishing boats nodding in their sleep, seagulls arguing about nothing, and water reflecting a sky that couldn’t decide between dawn and rain.

Nimbus didn’t know what to do there, so he simply sat.

He sat on crates, on wooden piers, on posts with lanterns tied to them.

He watched fishermen untangle nets, listened to masts sing in the wind, and tried to understand the language of the tide.

One boat, run aground on the sand, looked as lost as he felt.

Nimbus approached it gently, the way you approach someone who has had a long day.

He placed a paw on its weathered side.

“Storm?” he asked.

The boat didn’t answer — but the sea did.

A wave rushed forward, touched his feet, and pulled back as if saying:

“Keep going.”

And so he did.
