The Quiet Miles of Mister Nimbus. Episode I. Where the Wind First Found Him

Mister Nimbus was not born a traveler.

He began his quiet life in a small wooden attic above an old house — the kind of attic where dust floats like tiny galaxies and forgotten objects whisper their stories into the beams.

Nimbus spent years here, studying the world through a round window no larger than a ship’s porthole. Outside he saw rooftops, clouds, and birds who always seemed to know where they were going.

Inside, he collected whatever the attic offered:

a wrinkled map,

a compass with a stubborn needle,

and a key that clearly belonged to someone’s important memory.

One morning, the wind slipped in through a crack and tugged softly at his sweater.

Not hard.

Just enough to say: “Come see the rest.”

Nimbus folded his blanket, placed the key into his pocket, and stepped outside — for the first time.

He didn’t feel ready.

But he went anyway.
